Dr. Nathaniel Katz is considered one of the leading experts of treatment and clinical study design in pain clinical trials. He is a neurologist and pain management specialist with a distinguished career at Harvard Medical School, Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Dana Farber Cancer Institute. From 2000-2004 he served as Chair of the Advisory Committee, Anesthesia, Critical Care, and Addiction Products Division, United States FDA, during which time he completed a Master of Science in Biostatistics at Columbia University.

Dr. Katz founded Analgesic Solutions with the mission of modernizing the design and conduct of pain clinical trials to advance the “scientific quality” of pain clinical research, and empower effective treatments for patients. He is the Principal Consultant in charge of scientific oversight at Analgesic Solutions.

Dr. Katz’s holds the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor of Anesthesia at Tufts School of Medicine. He has completed numerous clinical trials of treatments for pain, both industry-initiated and investigator-initiated, involving pharmaceuticals, non-pharmaceutical analgesics and devices, and has also conducted studies related to opioids, pain, addiction, and other issues related to opioid therapy. Dr. Katz was an Associate Editor at the Clinical Journal of Pain, and Associate Editor (Pain) for the Encyclopedia of Neurological Sciences.


Chief Operating Officer

Robert Newman’s career in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology has spanned over 30 years. He has held roles of increasing responsibility in sales, marketing, business development, and for most of the past decade, operations.

Mr. Newman has been involved in company formation, expansion and a variety of strategic transactions. He has built teams focused on virtually every aspect of company operations.

Prior to joining Analgesic Solutions, he was the COO of TissueGene, a small regenerative medicine company focused on the clinical development of a cellular therapy for the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee. Mr. Newman is responsible for all of the operational aspects of the company’s business.


Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Morales is an accomplished biopharmaceutical executive who oversees all technical operations at Analgesic Solutions. In particular, Arturo leads the ongoing development and commercialization of the Company’s proprietary Quantitative Data Surveillance System (QDSS).

Upon completing his postdoctoral work with Dr. Paul Schimmel at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Dr. Morales started his industry career with Genome Therapeutics as a Senior Computational Biologist. He subsequently led a variety of teams at various companies including the Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research, where he was global lead for Biology Platform Informatics.

Dr. Morales is the founder of a digital health company that integrates traditional health metrics with a variety of data feeds in order to better identify trends and improve health outcomes.


Director of Business Development

Tony May is the Director of Business Development at Analgesic Solutions. He brings 17 years of leadership and sales experience to the position, spanning the military and biotech industry.

Tony served for ten years in The Parachute Regiment, British Army, which included two years with the US Military at Fort Bragg, N.C. He retired in 2008 at the rank of major and moved into sales and marketing.

Prior to Analgesic Solutions, Tony worked at IDEXX Laboratories from 2009-2015, the world leader in veterinary diagnostics. There his responsibilities included direct sales in the Chicago area, followed by a sales training role covering the US, and subsequently he was responsible for driving sales growth in a three state region.

Tony joined the Analgesic Solutions team in 2015 to lead all business development activities, including sales, marketing and product evolution. He holds a B.S. (Hons) in Genetics from the University of Liverpool, UK.
